Eleana Temple, 64 of Des Moines, formerly of Lauderdale County, MS, died Tuesday, June 5, 2007 at her home in Des Moines. Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Monday, June 11, 2007 at Amazing Grace Church, 1409 23rd St. in Des Moines with burial at Glendale Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Monday at the church.
Eleana was born August 16, 1942 in Lauderdale County, MS. She attended the rural schools as a young woman. She moved to Fort Dodge, IA and later settled in Des Miones. Eleana was united in marriage to Eli McMiller and common law to Major Hill. She was employed with Holiday Inn for 20 years until her retirement in 2003. A job she really enjoyed for many years.
Eleana was a very caring person that would do anything for anyone. She made you feel like you were apart of her family even if you weren’t. She enjoyed being a mother. Eleana would do anything for her children even when they became adults, and they would do the same for her. She had many grandchildren that she loved with all her heart. She had many special people in her life that she cared for alot that were really dear to her, and you know who you are.
Eleana is survived by her children, Frederick (Chris ) Boutchee, Johnnie Boutchee, Serita (Kevin) Jenkins and Willie Temple, Sr. all of Des Moines; She is also survived by many grandchildren and six great- grandchildren; brothers, Johnny Temple of Dekalb, MS and Robert Earl Temple of Dekalb, MS; and her sister, Lucy Mae Wilson of Waterloo, IA. She was preceded in death by her parents, Curtis and Hattie (Roberts) Temple; brothers, Curtis (Buck) Temple, Jr., Herbert, James, Earnest and Leon; sister, Ida Mae; and grandchildren, Raquila Temple and LaQuarius Temple.
