L. Nadine (Reeves) Rice

L. Nadine (Reeves) Rice passed away April 25, 2012, at Kitty Askins Hospice Center in Goldsboro, North Carolina.

Nadine was born January 13, 1947, to Lester and Daphne Reeves in Des Moines. She was baptized in 1959 at the Apostolic Faith Church. Nadine graduated from Lincoln High School in 1965 and married Robert Rice on July 24, 1966. She worked for Look Magazine, and retired from Con-Agri Foods in 2010.

Nadine enjoyed gardening, crafts, church activities, traveling, collecting cat figurines, and spending time with her family. She was a member of Central Bible Church and Coon Creek Baptist Church, where she taught Sunday school, and Bakery and Confectionary Union and Industry.

Nadine was survived by her husband, Robert Rice; children, Julie (Joe) Sigmund, Alisa (Clay) Moeller and Chris (Beth) Rice; grandchildren, Justin, Kyle, Christopher, Sadie, Brittany and Gavin; mother, Daphne Sandberg; sister, Mary Ellen (John) Raab-Rice; and her aunts, Rose Jors and Catherine Gates. She was preceded in death by her father, Lester Reeves; step-father, Paul Sandberg; and her brother, Robert Paul Sandberg.

A memorial service celebrating Nadine’s life will be held in conjunction with her mother, Daphne Sandberg’s funeral Tuesday, August 7, 2012, at 11 a.m., at Hamilton’s Funeral Home, 605 Lyon Street. Visitation will be held Monday, August 6, from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m., also at the funeral home. Nadine was laid to rest at Pineview Cemetery in Seven Springs, North Carolina.
