Sherry McIntosh

Sherry Ann (Stuart) McIntosh, 55 yrs. peacefully passed away on June 5 to embark on her new journey after her courageous battle with cancer.
Sherry was born Sept. 21, 1951 to Doris and Dick Stuart and was a lifelong resident of Altoona. She was active and involved in girl scouting for over 20 yrs. Dedicated to mentoring young women. In earlier years she liked attending political rallies and events. She loved camping, and was a fishing gal and all around nature girl. She was strongly dedicated to her family including among family members, the many children she babysat and grandmothers as well. She was a friend to all.
She is survived by her mother, Doris Stuart, daughter, Renee Larson and two granddaughters, Sydney and Kinzie and future great grandson Aiden.
She was preceded in death by her father, James “Dick” Stuart and brother, Michael .
Thanks so much to the team from Iowa Hospice for all their support and assistance and for having the compassion in making her farewell so dignified.
Sherry donated her body and will be cremated . A tribute of her life will be held at the Des Moines Botanical Center on Sunday, June 17 from 2 to 4 pm. Her request is for all to be bright and vibrant in honor of her.
