Lori Hewitt

Lori Ann (Craig) Hewitt, 44, passed away Saturday, July 28, 2012, at Mercy Hospice in Johnston.

Lori was born December 30, 1967, in Des Moines. She was a very happy, outgoing, bubbly, and loving person. Lori enjoyed spending time with her family and friends, and was a very loving mother and caring friend. She put everyone’s concerns before her own and had open arms to all that needed her. Lori loved writing poetry and short stories. She won an award for one of her poems. Lori also loved taking care of her many pets over the years and she enjoyed movies. She worked for Dice, Inc., as a customer support representative, and enjoyed doing trade shows and promoting the business.

Lori is survived by her children, Ashli (Kyle Hoyt) Hewitt and Anthony Hewitt; her children’s father, Chris Hewitt; parents, Richard and Vivian Craig; brothers, Les Craig and Hal (Petra) Craig; and many beloved friends. She was preceded in death by her niece, Brianna, and brother, Brian.

Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m., Thursday, August 2, 2012, at Olivet Baptist Church 2743 82nd Place in Urbandale, followed by burial at Glendale Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 4 to 8 p.m., Wednesday, at Hamilton’s Funeral Home, 605 Lyon Street.
