Service Details
Tim Murphy, 65, found peace at home on Friday, July 27, 2012. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, July 31, 2012, from 5 to 7 p.m., at Hamilton’s on Westown Parkway, 3601 Westown Parkway in West Des Moines. A graveside service will be held on Wednesday, August 1, 2012, at 10 a.m., at Laurel Hill Cemetery in Des Moines.
Tim, son of Helen “Billie” and John D. Murphy, was born on June 7, 1947, in Des Moines. He graduated from East High School in 1965 and was a devoted “eastside pride” resident. Tim even met his wife Cindee on the loop in downtown Des Moines. After graduation, Tim joined the US Army and served in the Viet Nam war. He retired in 2004 from Super Valu as a Warehouseman. Tim had a good sense of humor and never knew a stranger. He enjoyed spending time with his family and friends, and was a member of Teamsters Local 147, the VFW and VVA.
His memory will be cherished by his wife of 46 years, Cindee; son, John (Patty); daughter, Jennifer “Tootie”; grandchildren, Courtenay Murphy, Abby, Lee and Matthew; sister, Linda (Dick) Blaze; nieces, Kim (Jim Bresley) Harding-Bresley and Michelle (Tim) Harrison; his granddog, Bella; and many other family members and friends.

Cindee and family.
I live in Florida now and just learned of Tim.I have some feeling for this very difficult time as I am still suffering with the loss of Chris 2 years ago.
I always enjoyed spending time with you and Tim.
I know Tim being the positive person he was would want you to try to be as happy as possible. I think of this every day and try to end the day with that thought.
I wish you and your family strength and my best wishes.

Dear Cindee
I am so sorry to hear about your loss. I graduated with Tim in 1965. I get e-mails from Linda Curtis and it said that Tim passed away. I know what you are going through. I lost my husband Nov 8 of last year. He was 64. He was also in Vietnam and Thailand. It is a shame that our good men fight for our country and have to come back with so many health problems. I am always thinking of the good times that my husband and I have had together over the years. I keep feeling that he is still with me in my heart and in my mind. By heart and prayers go out to you and your family.

Cindee, Johnnie and Tootie, I have great memories that Tim gave me through the years. He always told me if Johnnie didn't treat my daughter, Mary, well when they were dating in highschool to let him know and he would straighten John out. I had alot of good friendly talks over the years about our kids with Tim and Cindee, I will miss him greatly and our thoughts are with Cindee and the kids. Much love, Mike.

I met Tim at East High School. He was always happy and fun to be around. I'll never forget how he would shift gears in his car and never use the clutch. He will be missed by many. Prayers of comfort for his family and may the Lord be with them.

Thinking of you all at this difficult time. I've shared a few stories with my wife about Papa Murph the last day or so & we end up laughing every time. He was certainly one of a kind & I'm very grateful to have known him for 40 + years!

Dear Cindy,John & Tootie. My deepest sympathy.I have so many great memories of Tim. We were together from Philips to May Goodrell, then to East. We worked together at Super Valu warehouse. He would stop by the house and we would talk about old times and laugh alot.My prayes go out to your family.
