Helen Sargent

Helen passed away on July 27, 2012, at Mercy Hospital. She was 68. Born onOctober 13, 1943, in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, to Orville and Helen Jones as their sixth child in a line of ten. Helen married Kenneth (Toke) Sargent in 1964. They were married 48 years before her death. They spent the early part of their life moving between Des Moines, Cedar Rapids, and the state of Kansas, before finally settling in Des Moines where they spent the past 31 years.

She is survived by her husband Kenneth (Toke) and biological daughter Amanda (Dan) Sargent (Winn). She is survived by two adopted children Scott (Melissa) and Shannon. She is also survived by four grandchildren, Caleb (11), name sake Danielle Helen Sargent Winn (9), Alexandria (7), and grandson Job (2), whom she loved to play with and teach. Helen is survived by brother Larry Jones, and sister-in-law Gay. She is survived by numerous nieces and nephews whom she loved dearly. She is survived by many beloved friends.

Funeral services will be graveside at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday July 31st. There will be a gathering afterward; more information will be announced at the service.
