Gerald Stodden

Gerald “Jerry” Stodden, 84, passed away peacefully with his loving wife by his side Wednesday, July 25, 2012, at Genesis Senior Living Center, where he had resided for 19 months.

Jerry was born July 3, 1928, in Charter Oak, Iowa. He retired from Hawkeye Wood Shavings after many years of faithful service. Jerry proudly served his country from 1950-1952 in the Army.

Jerry is survived by his wife of 29 years, Donna Stodden; children, Donna (Karl) Winterhalter, Michael (Jerri Faye) Stodden, Richard Lawler, Nancy Stodden, and Lorena (Jeff) Robbins; beloved grandchildren, Jennifer, Alicia, Krista, Doug, Michael, Kaylee, and Eric; many great-grandchildren; sisters, Twyla (Harold) Davis and Charlene Reichel; brother, Charles (Jeanne) Stodden; numerous nieces and nephews; other relatives; many special friends; and Missy, his cat. He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother.

The family will greet friends from 5 to 7 p.m., Monday, July 30, 2012, at Hamilton’s Southtown Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m., Tuesday, July 31, 2012, at the funeral home, with burial to follow at Chapel Hill Cemetery.
