Lester Paul “Rusty” Allen, 57, died Monday, July 23, 2012, at Iowa Lutheran Hospital.
Lester was born April 21, 1955, to John and Helen (Hill) Allen in Des Moines, and was a Master Electrician.
Lester is survived by his son, Danny Joe Allen; daughter, Kimberly Dawn Corley Wilson; eight grandchildren; sister, Theresa (Ray) Hay; brothers, Jimmy Allen, Johnny Allen, and Billy (Laurie) Allen; and a host of other extended family members and friends. He was preceded in death by parents.
A celebration of his life will be held 3 to 8 p.m. Thursday, July 26, 2012, at Raccoon River Valley Park, 2500 Grand Avenue in West Des Moines.
Memorial contributions may be directed to the family.

Lester had so much to give to the world. He was smart, talented, funny, sensitive and alone.
I tried for many years to give him a hand, but I think I only made things worse.
His troubles are over now.
I forgive him. I hope he will forgive me.
Prayers, peace, love and best wishes to everyone who will mourn him.
Lester is finally at peace.

We're so sorry to hear of the loss of your dad, Danny. We went to Rhianna's Birthday Party last Sunday, and your mom told us about your dad.
We'll try to get over to the park tomorrow afternoon but have to pick Adam up at the cemetery first.

Brother your life was filled with lot's of things. You lead a life of anger and loss. I know why you turned your family away. Please just know I have forgave you and may you rest in peace now.
