Dorothy C. Sanders

Dorothy C. Sanders, 97, passed away at home Sunday, July 22, 2012.

Dorothy was born January 22, 1915, in Des Moines, to Nels and Augusta (Johnson) Anderson. On August 26, 1938, she was married to Henry Sanders. She graduated from Drake University, and worked for Tri-State Theatre Corp. until her retirement in 1955. She also spent many years as a sketcher for Younkers. Dorothy was a member of St. Luke’s Episcopal Church.

Dorothy is survived by her daughter, Joy Sanders; first cousin, Irene Schossow, second cousin, Bill (Dianne) Schossow; and many other friends and family She was preceded in death by her husband, Henry Sanders, and her brothers, Louis, Dewey, and Clifford Anderson

Visitation will be held from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m., Thursday, July 26, 2012, at Hamilton’s Funeral Home, 605 Lyon Street, followed by an 11:00 a.m. graveside service at the Masonic Cemetery.
