Dale E. White, 67, passed away Sunday, July 15, 2012, at Mercy Hospice in Johnston.
Dale was born December 9, 1944, in Aberdeen, Washington, to Anthony and Vernona White. He served in the U.S. Navy from 1961 to 1970. In 1972, he married Linda Meincke in Shelton, WA. Dale retired from Des Moines University in 2010. He was a great father and husband, and will be sorely missed. Dale was an avid fisherman.
Dale is survived by his wife, Linda; children, Carl, Joseph, Christopher, and Stephany; step-daughter, Tamela; mother, Vernona Sandmire; brothers, Larry, Richard, Douglas, and Charles; sister, Jeanine; and his beloved grandchildren, Tyler, Jacob, Anthony, Elizabeth, Sayde, Simeonne, Makayla, and Jordan. He was preceded in death by his father, Anthony, and sister, Diane.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m., Wednesday, July 18, 2012, at Immanuel United Methodist Church, 2900 49th Street, Des Moines. Visitation will be held from 5 to 7 p.m. Tuesday, at Hamilton’s Funeral Home, 605 Lyon Street, Des Moines.
Memorial contributions may be directed to the family for distribution to various charities.

I have no words to ease the pain. I only have two arms to hold you, tears to cry with you and our comfort in God that Dale is pain free and fishing in the best stocked lake in Heaven.
