Marvin Howard Sheets

Marvin Howard Sheets, 81, passed away Saturday, July 14, 2012, at the V.A. Hospital in Des Moines. He was born December 31, 1930, in Des Moines, to Cary and Opal (Buck) Sheets.

Marvin served in the U.S. Marine Corps. during the Korean War and retired from Meredith Publishing & Printing (RR Donnelly) after many years of service.

Marvin is survived by his wife, Juanita; daughters, Rozann Lage and Michele Fritz; step-daughter, Kim (Jerry) Burrows; step-son, Kenyon Peck; brother, Donald (Beverly) Sheets; sister, Margaret Aschan; eight grandchildren, Lisa, Natalie, Amy, Mike, Dan, Kate, Cory, and Tony; and fifteen great-grandchildren, Devin, Brandon, Isaac, Jack, Joseph, Abraham, Kasper, Peyton, Araley, Will, Nick, Gage, Jason, Shirah, and Damien. He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Paul Wyckoff, Griffith, and Duane Sheets.

Visitation will begin at 11 a.m., Wednesday, July 18, 2012, with a funeral service at 1 p.m., at Hamilton’s Funeral Home, 605 Lyon Street, followed by burial at Colfax Cemetery.

Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society or the Beaverdale VFW Post 9127.
