Charles "Chuck" Lee Crist

Charles “Chuck” Lee Crist, 59, died Monday, July 9, at Mercy Medical Center of a sudden illness, with his loving wife, Denise, at his side.

He was born in Shelby, Ohio, October 27, 1952, the son of Willard and Doris (Maxson) Crist. Chuck was honorably discharged from the U.S. Army in 1977. He was a trusted and loyal forklift operator employee of Bridgestone Tires for the past eleven years. He was well liked and respected by his colleagues, and will be missed.

Chuck was an avid gardener, but his passion was computer technology. Among his many talents, he had the natural ability to make one-and-all feel special. He was not only a cherished only brother, but a well-loved brother-in-law.

Survivors include his loving wife of 32 years, Denise Lee (Smith) Crist, of Des Moines; mother, Doris Crist of Olmsted Falls, Ohio; sisters, Nancy Crist, Claudia Norris, Donna Dale, Diana Curney, Linda Petrella, all of whom live in or near Olmsted Falls, Ohio, and sister, Patricia Lambeth of Satsuma, Alabama. He is also survived by sisters-in-law, Paula McDougall of San Ramon, California, and Tina Reynolds of Balch Springs, Texas; brother in-law, Robert Williams of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma; and remains in loving memory by many nieces, nephews, other family members, and exceptional friends, Leilani and Mike Walker.

He was preceded in death by his father, Willard Crist, and sister-in-law, Sharon Nebgen.

The family will greet friends from 2 to 4 p.m., Saturday, July 14, 2012, at Hamilton’s Funeral Home, 605 Lyon Street.
