Donald “Don” George Schwery, 79, passed away on July 8, 2012 at Arbor Springs Nursing Home.  Services will be held on Wednesday, July 11 at 10:00 a.m. at St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church, 7075 Ashworth Road in West Des Moines.  Visitation will be held on Tuesday evening from 6 to 8 p.m. at Hamilton’s on Westown Parkway, 3601 Westown Parkway in West Des Moines. 
Donald “Don” George Schwery was born on June 10, 1933 to Agnes (Maiwald) and Lawrence Schwery on the family farm 3 miles west of Panama IA.  He graduated from St. Mary’s High School in Panama.  After serving 2 years in the U.S. Army, Don returned to Panama and spent his career farming and trucking on the same farm where he was raised.  He married Rosanne Schnepf on October 5, 1973 and together they raised two daughters.  Don retired from farming in 2007 and in 2009 he and Rosanne moved to West Des Moines.  Don enjoyed spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren.
Don passed away on July 8, 2012 at Arbor Springs Nursing home in West Des Moines, IA. He will be greatly missed by his wife of 38 years, Rosanne; daughters, Beth Schwery and Jill (Matt) Dolan; grandchildren, Kayla, Andrew and Alexis; his brother, Duane (Kathy) Schwery; and sister, Elaine (Ralph) Tremel.  Don was preceded in death by his parents; his sister, Monica Kenkel; and his brother, Robert Schwery.
