Katherine Jorgensen

Katherine (Kathy) S. Jorgensen, 56, passed away Friday, July 6, 2012, in Des Moines, IA. She was born October 21, 1955 in Sheldon, IA, to Jim and Donna (Keegan) Breuer. Kathy graduated from Sheldon Community High School in 1974, and married Richard Jorgensen on July 20, 1977.

She was employed with Maurices Distribution Center in Johnston, IA, for 23 years, most recently in the Human Resources Department. Kathy loved to ride - she and her husband logged over 40,000 miles on their Harley Davidson motorcycles.

Kathy is survived by her husband, Richard; children, Joshua (Stephanie) Jorgensen of Ankeny, Nicholas (fiancee, Chelsea White) of Des Moines, and Brenda Katt of Rock Rapids, IA; seven grandchildren; siblings, Barbara (Alan) Chindlund, Bonnie (Jim) Huygens, Jim (Cathy) Breuer, Theresa (David) Maslen, Steven (Peggy) Breuer, Mary (Mark) Sindt, Laurie (Barney) Edwards, Bill Breuer, and Margaret (Scott) Westre; sisters-in-law, Sandra Vennink and Karen (Larry) Swanson; along with many nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, and parents-in-law, Frank and Virginia (Baer) Jorgensen.

Funeral services will be 10 a.m., Monday, July 9, 2012, at Hamilton’s near Highland Memory Gardens, 121 NW 60th Avenue in Des Moines. The family will greet visitors from 4 to 6 p.m. Sunday, at the funeral home.
