Peggy C. Onstot, 82, died July 3, 2012, at Taylor Hospice House in Des Moines. She was born May 26, 1930, in Minden Mines, Missouri, to Harvey and Beetrice Hutson.
She is survived by her sons, Dan (Terry) Onstot and Jeff (Gayle) Onstot; her daughters, Carla (Jim) Becker, Pamela Milner, Paula Alloway, and Gaila Hayes; her grandchildren, Stacey (Nate) Squiers, Joey Becker, Kelly Flynn, Dan (Kristian) Onstot, Megan Alloway, Bryan Milner, Chris Onstot, Cole Alloway, Nick Lang, Cortney Onstot, Taylor Hayes, and Cameron Onstot; her great-grandchildren, Josh, Jake, Jilly Kate Squiers, and Daniel H. Onstot.
Peggy was preceded in death by her husband, Duane Fredrick Onstot, and her parents.
Visitation will be held from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m., Friday, July 6, 2012, at Hamilton’s Southtown Funeral Home, 5400 SW 9th Street, Des Moines, Iowa. A graveside service will take place at 10:00 a.m., Saturday, July 7, 2012, at Norwalk Cemetery.
Memorial Contributions may be directed to Taylor House Hospice, or the Norwalk Rescue Department.

So sorry to hear of Peg's passing. She was a wonderful lady and I enjoyed very much knowing her. These words were passed on to our family at such a time as this. ~To live in hearts we leave behind is not to die~ Our hope is that you find comfort in them. Our condolences to all her family.

Dear family and friends of Peggy Onstot,
Please accept our deepest condolences and sympathies on the death of Peggy. We are saddened of your loss and know mere words may offer but little comfort at this tragic time, but know that our deepest feelings of compassion lie with you all.
It seems like since I (Jim) moved out of state Ive lost touch a bit, but do think of you all often. Especially those summer days on the farm located just a bit south of Norwalk, which are full of cherished memories of growing up. One of my fondest memories of Peggy was the way she celebrated birthdays. It was a special day and it was to be treated as such for us kids. On that one day you were allowed to have one item (i.e. Doritos, Cheetos, ice cream, even Cool Whip) of your liking to eat until you couldnt eat any more that legacy still stands to this day with me and my wife.
We'll all miss Peggy very much. She was a wonderful person and a great mother. We join in with everyone who knew Peggy in wishing you peace and comfort as you face this difficult time. Our thoughts and prayers are with you and your families.
We realize it seems like a sad ending of a life, but we have faith that your mom is on a wondrous journey to reap her just rewards. Hers was a good and blessed life and the happiness and joy that she brought to all of us will live on in our memories.
