Patrick Henry Swift, Jr.

Pat Swift, 90, passed away on Monday, July 2, 2012. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday, July 6 at 10:00 a.m. at St. Theresa Catholic Church, 1230 Merle Hay Rd in Des Moines. Visitation will be held the night before at Hamilton’s on Westown Parkway, 3601 Westown Parkway in West Des Moines from 5 to 7 p.m. with a rosary at 7 p.m.

Pat was born in Greenfield, IA to Mary Jane (Girard) and Patrick Henry Swift, Sr. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army and married his sweetheart, Lucille “Lucy” on April 3, 1948. Pat worked most of his career in the food service industry and then assisted Lucy at Exquisine, Gourmet Kitchen and Lucy’s Kitchen. He was an avid Chicago Cubs fan who enjoyed life to the fullest with his family and friends.

He will be greatly missed by his wife of 64 years, Lucille; sons, Steve (Norma), John (Faye) and Bill Swift; daughter, Sue (Bill) Davis; his grandchildren, Todd (Debbie) Swift, Nicki (Tony) Limoges, Matthew (Cayla) Swift, Christina Swift, Lucy and Annette Davis; and great-grandchildren, Madison, Thaddeus, Colby, Tessa, Dylan, Lincoln, Emma and Gabriella. He was preceded in death by his parents, and 8 siblings.
