John "Jack" L. Plummer

John "Jack" L. Plummer, Sr., 98, passed away Tuesday, June 26, 2012, at Urbandale Health Care Center.

Jack was born in 1914 in Des Moines to Herbert and Clara (Lowther) Plummer. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge. He loved to golf. He retired from Meredith Publishing where he worked as a typesetter for 30 years. Then he and wife Gwen enjoyed travelling.

Jack is survived by his loving wife of 74 years, Gwen; son, John Plummer, Jr., and his wife Diane; daughter, Lynn Plummer; niece, Karen Sue Smith; and many other extended family members and friends.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m., Saturday June 30, 2012, at Hamilton’s Funeral Home, 605 Lyon Street, followed by burial at Laurel Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service Saturday, at the funeral home.
