Mike and I attended Simpson College together and were football teammates there during the late 60's and early 70's. Mike was one of the toughest guys that I ever knew. He also was one of the orneriest. Years later, after Mike settled in Altoona, we reconnected and often socialized together, always pushing things to the edge. He was a great guy. I will miss him deeply. My sympathy to his family and friends

Dear Karen, Tom and Family,
Our thoughts and prayers are with you. Dick was out of town the end of last week; otherwise, he would have been at the visitation. We thought a lot of Mike! Dick got to know him years ago when Dick worked at Allied Building Products. Our favorite story of Mike is when someone called him and asked if he could build a lean-to building and Mike said, "They all lean when I get done with them." We thought it was hilarious but I'm not sure the person on the phone understood the joke because I don't think Mike got the job. Ha! Our kids still laugh about that joke.
We're thinking of you and your family and hope you are all doing okay. Mike was a great guy and we won't forget him.
God bless,
Dick and Vicki Larimer and family

I am sorry for the sudden loss of your husband/father/grandfather. I did not know Mike, I know Chad. The truism that "an apple does not fall far from the tree" would suggest that Mike will be missed for the positive influence he has had on others. May God Bless and comfort you in your time of loss.

We are so sorry to hear of Mike's death. I will remember his dry wit and his strong work ethic. Tom will remember golf outings and picking up the phone to call Mike for assistance with many of our projects at the coffee house and at our home. Karen, I pray for strength and peace from our Heavenly Father to get you through this tough time. Sending hugs along with prayers!!
