Florence Beck, 95, died June 14, 2012, at Methodist Hospital.
She was born in Knoxville, Iowa, to Thomas and Minnie Ashby. She graduated from Lincoln High. Florence was an amazing mother and grandmother. She took pride in her family.
Florence is survived by her children; Dorothy Stroh, Thomas (Oleta) Beck, Linda (Dale) Johnson, Christy (Tom) Webster; 16 grandchildren; numerous great- and great-great-grandchildren; sister, Lorraine Nizzi; and son-in-law, Pat Swinehart. She was preceded in death by her husband of over 60 years; Eldon Beck; daughter, Shirley Swinehart; grandson, Eldon Swinehart; son-in-law, Jim Stroh; and brother, Karl Ashby.
A memorial service will be held 11 a.m., Thursday, June 21, 2012, at the Wakonda Christian Church in Des Moines. Visitation will occur from 5-7 p.m., Wednesday night, at the church.
Memorial contributions may be directed toward Wakonda Christian Church.
