We knew Dave back in the early 70's when he played for our entertainment group, The Bavarian Haus Singers on E. 14th Street. We were attending Drake University and the singing gig helped pay for it. Dave was an excellent musician and had a great sense of humor. We will miss his wit, wisdom, and humor.

We may not have as many memories as everyone on this page but one thing is for sure, the few times I was around we always had good conversations, and plenty to laugh about. Your a strong man even when your body said not today. I'm proud to be named after you. Love David Harpin

We grew up on SW 7th Street, and had wonderful times playing in those simpler times. It was great to see David last year at our high school reunion. With sympathy to your family, rest in peace, David.

David was a wo9nderful, spiritual man. My family & I 1st attebded earky servuce at PACC 2 yrs, ago. We heard Davids deep voice singing along to the keyboard he was playing. I love that that was our 1st impression of PACC. we became regularsimmediately, partly due the fact that he was so welcoming. I wish I had gotten to know him better, but I'm blessed to have known him at all.He certainly left the world much better than when he entered it. My thoughts & prayers are with the family & with our church. This is a tremendous loss for us, but knowing that he is no longer sick & suffering is the most important thing. David was a wonerful man who loved life, & I am better for having known him. I'll bet he's already got an organ gig set up in Heaven. Peace, David, we all miss you, and we will look after each other.

Mr. Chamberlain was more than an awesome teacher, he was a great friend and mentor. His musical gifts and talents spread tremendously as inspiration among so many. He was a genuine, and fun person to be around. It was always such a pleasure to have been associated with him and his life. I'll never forget the first time I heard him play the piano. This is the moment when I forever had given him his due respect and my wide-eyed attention. He played with such strength, integrity and character. His playing, I came to learn, was an exact replication of his personality. I dearly loved this man as his passion for music, for people and just plain for having fun! I am certain that directly and absolutely, because of his influences I continue my adoration for music. My hope is that he will see me from Heaven playing my newly found passion, the cello. I will, and do, miss him so dearly. God Bless him and everyone who's lives he has so profoundly effected.

I have such special memories of David as my first boyfriend at the tender age of 14. When I moved away and came back to visit Park Avenue church, I always looked forward to hearing him share his gift of music at the organ. My heart goes out to his family. He lived a wide life of service to others and devotion to God.

Mr. Chamberlain was the first person to really help me discover that I had the talent to sing when I was in 6th grade at Harding Middle School. He always made me sing at school talent shows and assemblies, and I will never forget all the things he taught me and the memories we shared. My thoughts and prayers go out to your family. I give my thanks as well for giving us a such a wonderful person to have in our lives.

I would like to express my deepest sympathy to your family during this difficult time. May you be comforted by the promise of the resurrection and the end of sickness and death forever. God makes this wonderful promise at Isaiah 25:8 where it states that "He will swallow up death forever" I hope this message is of some consolation.
