Service Details
Barbara LaFon, 78, died Sunday, June 10, 2012. A funeral service will be 2 p.m., Saturday, June 16, 2012, at Hamilton’s Southtown Funeral Home, 5400 SW 9th Street, with burial following at Avon Cemetery. A visitation will be from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Friday, at the funeral home.
Barbara was born October 24, 1933, in Des Moines, to Harvey and Coral Entsminger. She co-owned JD Auto with her husband, James.
Barbara is survived by her children, Gloria (Robert DeCamp) Carney, Sue (Daryl) Achey, Harold (Cathy) Carney, Debra (Roger) Tabor, and James (Missy) LaFon Jr.; 15 grandchildren; 30 great-grandchildren; brother, John Entsminger and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, James LaFon, Sr., great grandson, Dominic LaFon, and 12 siblings.

I pray that you find peace and solace in the Lord during this very difficult time. I know that Grandma Lafon was loved by not only her family, but by so many others. The lives that she was able to touch in her time here on earth will be measured by how we live our lives. May God bless your family and know that she is at rest and peace and welcomed into Heaven with open arms.

I would like to express my deepest sympathy to your family during this difficult time. May you be comforted by the promise of the resurrection and the end of sickness and death forever. God makes this wonderful promise at Isaiah 25:8 where it states that "He will swallow up death forever" I hope this message is of some consolation.
