Belva Jean Johnson, 77, passed away Thursday, June 7, 2012, at Taylor House Hospice.
Jean was born February 24, 1935, in Des Moines, Iowa, to Guy and Agnes (Hewitt) Higgins. She was a homemaker and then worked for the Salvation Army for about 25 years.
Jean is survived by her loving husband of 58 years, Donald; children, Mike (Shirley) Johnson, Don E. Johnson, Tim (Karen) Johnson and Brenda (Tom) Pauscher; nine grandchildren; sixteen great-grandchildren; and many other loving relatives and special friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, twin sister, Joann, sisters, Ruth and Betty, and Lisa’s mom, Sheryl Porter.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m., Monday, June 11, 2012, at Hamilton’s Funeral Home, 605 Lyon Street, followed by burial at Oakwood Cemetery in Pleasant Hill. Visitation will be held from 3 to 5 p.m. Sunday, at the funeral home.
Memorial contributions may be made to Mercy Hospital.

If you ever needed a lift for the day it was your good fortune to see Jean at the SA. She never uttered an unkind word or negative thought about anyone. Your Jean was a special gal!

I am thankful we did get to visit with Jeanne when we came to visit in October.Such a sweet and friendly woman. So sorry for your loss. I know you will miss her greatly.
