Marlen Elmer McDonald

Marlen McDonald, 90, passed away Thursday, June 7, 2012, at the Veterans Home in Marshalltown. A private family burial will take place at Crestlawn Cemetery in Riverside, California at a later date.

Marlen was born July 18, 1921, in Des Moines, to Elmer and Nellie McDonald. He honorably served in the U.S. Army during WWII. Marlen was a mechanic and retired from Western Auto in Las Vegas.

Marlen is survived by his children, Walter (Paula), Sharon (Danny), Kathy, Connie (Jeff), and Becky; 12 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; and other extended family members and friends. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Ora, second wife, Lillian, and his sister, Reva Cox.
