Bertha Evans, 61, passed away Wednesday, June 6, 2012, at Mercy Medical Center.
Bertha was born August 29, 1950, to AZ and Dessie Adams. She worked as a CAN, and spent many hours volunteering at the Learning Center of the Lord.
Bertha is survived by her husband, Robert Evans; children, Napoleon Evans, James Evans, Barbara Craddock, and Charlotte Evans; step-children, Robert Stonehawker, Sharneilicole Mure, and Alexander Evans; ten sisters; three brothers; 30 grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and many other extended relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her son, James Earl Evans, and two brothers.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m., Friday, June 22, 2012, at Hamilton’s Funeral Home, 605 Lyon Street, followed by burial at Glendale Cemetery. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service Friday, at the funeral home.
Memorial contributions may be directed to the family in loving memory of Bertha.

I would like to express my deepest sympathy to your family during this difficult time. May you be comforted by the promise of the resurrection and the end of sickness and death forever. God makes this wonderful promise at Isaiah 25:8 where it states that "He will swallow up death forever" I hope this message is of some consolation.
