Beth Burton

Beth Ann Burton, 51, passed away May 31, 2007 at the Kavanagh House on Grand in West Des Moines. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at Christ the King Catholic Church 10:30 am Saturday. Burial will take place at Mt. Olivet Cemetery in Waterloo at 3:00 pm Saturday. Visitation will take place at Hamilton’s Southtown Funeral Home from 5 to 8pm Friday with a vigil service at 7:00pm
Beth was born August 3, 1955 in Waterloo to Vivian and Merle Burton. She worked at Blue Cross and Blue Shield as a customer service representative. She also worked part time at Sears. Beth was a member of Christ the King Catholic Church. Beth enjoyed reading and watching old movies, especially comedies. She loved being outside and one of her goals upon being diagnosed with cancer was to be able to go for walks around Gray’s Lake. She was awarded an honorary BS degree in business administration from the University of Phoenix in May of 2007.
Beth is survived by her sisters, Barbara (Michael) Hibdon of Highlands Ranch, Colorado and Susan Marie (Al) Rogers of Waterloo and their children, Ashley and Matt. Many area cousins especially Inee Johnson and Bob Johnson. Her dear friends who spent so much time with her during her illness. Mark and Debra Remsburg and their children, Amanda and Ashley. Many other friends who will miss her.
