Dear Toni, Mr. & Mrs. Reimers, Mr & Mrs. Terrones and all of Dave's family....Even though I only knew you from the time spent in the ICU waiting room, you all impacted my life and I hurt with you at this time of your grief. I'm sure Dave felt all your love and is now at peace. You are all in my prayers. May God Bless you and give you strength for each new day. You were a lovely family and I so appreciated your kindness shown toward me during our difficult time together. May all the wonderful memories you hold dear of your loved one give you comfort and may God give you peace and strength. I would love to be able to attend the service, but it will depend on how Lowell feels. He is home, but still terribly weak. Love Mary Smith

Toni, I am so sorry to learn of Dave's passing. He helped me with job leads when I was a student at DMACC. I only put it together when reading the obituary that the two of you were married. My heart goes out to you and all the family members that loved Dave. May the wonderful memories you have of him be of some comfort to you at this most difficult time. My sincere condolences to you and your family.

To Dave's Family:
I was so sad to see the obituary in the paper today. I went all thru Byron Rice, Hoover and ISU with Dave and have many many great memories of him. What a kind, compassionate, caring person he was. I remember he and Mark Foss being together all the time and sharing their love of music. We had a ton of fun at ISU together with Scott Miller and Steve Delaney at the TKE house! I picture him now with that great big grin on his face---always game for some fun which Scott was usually the instigator of, although he would say it was Dave. I have some great pics from those days! Ski trips to Afton Alps, water skiing at Saylorville....he was good at many things! I got to meet Toni at one of our reunions and was so happy to know that he had married well! My heart goes out to all of you tonight and I pray that you have peace in knowing that Dave is having a great time and making some beautiful music in heaven right now without any health worries.
Blessing to you all....

I am so saddened. Dave was a great young man and a great friend of Scott's. He remains part of our family history. I have a great picture of Dave, Toni, Mike, Scott and Yuriko riding the rapids on the Animas River. May the LORD be with all of you.

I was very lucky to have the pleasure to grow up with Dave on Ashby Avenue and be able to see a boy who's first love was his family. It was always family first. Mom and dad did everything right and both Dave and Mike were blessed with the gifts of faith and love. I remember when Dave was first diagnosed with diabetes, mom and dad made it special with the camp experience with other kids in the same situation, Dave couldn't wait to go. When Dave moved away I lost my buddy who loved to scrape the ice off the driveway to shoot hoops, throw the football, eat ice cubes with Kool Aid on a tooth pick, walk with a transistor radio at dusk, go see the Goodyear blimp at the airport, "great Kid stuff". I know where Dave is now because the Lord rewards great people like Dave with the promise of eternal life.
Maury and Mary Jean our deepest sympathy from the Schiller family reaches out to you along with Toni. I have never met Toni, but I know you must be special just like Dave.
