Olita P. Sherbon

Olita Pearl (Swim) Sherbon, 95, passed away on May 23, 2012, at Mill Pond in Ankeny, Iowa. She was born the eldest of 3 girls and 1 boy, to Vance and Marie Ingersoll, on September 27, 1916, in Bel Aire, Kansas.

Olita was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star, Chapter 361, Polk City, Iowa, and Polk City Historical Society.

Olita was preceded in death by her parents; first husband, Virgil Swim; son, Jere Swim; second husband, Merle Sherbon; sister, Rosalie Robertson; and brother, Merle Ingersoll.

Olita is survived by her daughter, Audrey (Jack) Burt; grandson, Kevin (Sue) Burt; granddaughter, Cindy (Jon) Johnson; 6 great-grandchildren; sister, Nelda Robertson; and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be 10 a.m., Saturday, May 26, 2012, at Hamilton’s near Highland Memory Gardens, 121 NW 60th Avenue, Des Moines, with burial to follow at Union Cemetery in Polk City, Iowa. The family will greet friends one hour prior to service time, at the funeral home.

Memorial contributions may be given to the Polk City Historical Society in loving memory of Olita.
