Jean F. Keller

Jean F. Keller, 87, was born October 17, 1924, in Des Moines, the daughter of Chester and Gertrude (Wallace) Davis. She passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family Thursday, May 17, 2012, at Iowa Lutheran Hospital.

Jean was a Sweet Adeline for over 40 years and also sang in the church choir. She had a passion for quilting and always stitched every stitch by hand. Above all else, Jean loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren.

Jean is survived by her children, Kurt C. (Debra) Keller, Deborah (Jerry) Starrett and Barbara J. Keller, all of Des Moines; eight grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; sister, Norma Zinzer of Pleasant Hill; other loving relatives and many special friends. She was preceded in death by her loving husband, Milton H. Keller; son, Van D. Keller; grandson, Matthew Keller; three brothers; and her parents.

The family will greet friends from 4 to 8 p.m. Sunday, May 20, 2012, at Hamilton’s Funeral Home, 605 Lyon Street. Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m., Monday, May 21, 2012, at the funeral home, with burial to follow at Laurel Hill Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Lung Association or Camp Wesley Woods in loving memory of Jean.
