Eldon "Jack" Davidson
May 14, 2012
Jack Davidson, 80, went to be with the Lord after a courageous battle with cancer on Monday, May 14, 2012, at his daughter’s home in Berwick. He was born December 9, 1931, in Des Moines, to James and Alta Davidson.
Jack worked for Crouse Cartage for 32 years. He was a member of Bethany New Life Christian Fellowship Church, and Teamsters Local 147. Jack enjoyed woodworking, especially designing rocking chairs for his “kids.” He was a loving, kind, and generous man whose life revolved around his relationship with the Lord and his family. Jack was the greatest dad in the world!
Jack is survived by his loving wife of 61 years, Shirley; children, Vicki and Gary Henderson and Sam and DeeAnn Davidson; grandchildren, Terress, Torrie (Dallas), April, Corey, Nate (Michelle) and Abby (Nate), ten great-grandchildren, with another on the way; sister, Velma Robbins; and Jennifer Klingensmith. He was preceded in death by his parents; six sisters; and four brothers.
Funeral services will be 9:30 a.m., Friday, May 18, 2012, at New Hope Assembly of God, 6800 Townsend Avenue, Urbandale, with burial at Laurel Hill Cemetery. Friends may visit with family from 5 to 8 p.m., Thursday, May 17, at Hamilton’s Funeral Home, 605 Lyon Street, Des Moines.
Memorial Contributions may be made to the Building Fund at Bethany New Life Christian Fellowship Church in loving memory of Jack.

We have wonderful memories of Jack and his love for the Lord and his earthly family, and of course his singing and his sense of humor. Today we mourn a loss; but we also rejoice because Jack has reached his eternal home in heaven, and we look forward to that day when we will see Jack again and hear him singing around the throne. Please know that you are all in our prayers.
