Mary L. Phillips

Mary Lee Phillips, 95, passed away Sunday, May 13, 2012, at Parkridge Nursing & Rehabilitation Center in Pleasant Hill.
She was born March 23, 1917, in Grant, Virginia. Mary Lee was a great mother and wife, serving side by side with her husband, Reverend Adolph Phillips. She was a member of New Hope Assembly of God Church in Urbandale.
Mary Lee is survived by her four children, Delano (Darlene) of Des Moines, Wilma Pack (Arie) of Pleasant Hill, Dennis (Rhonda) of Peru, Iowa and Marsha Peters (Craig) of Altoona; 12 grandchildren; 27 great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; and her sister, June Thompson. She was preceded in death by her husband Adolph of 77 years; parents, John and Drucie McCarroll; a sister; three brothers; and infant daughter, Doris Rae.
A Celebration of Life will be held at 10:30 a.m., Thursday, May 17, 2012, at New Hope Assembly of God Church, 6800 Townsend Avenue, followed by burial at Chapel Hill Gardens Cemetery. The family will greet friends from 5 to 7 p.m. Wednesday, at Hamilton’s Funeral Home, 605 Lyon Street.

Our family loved Mary Lee & Adolph very much. They were inspirational Pastors and truly blessed friends. They both left a great legecy to both family and friends. Thank you for sharing them with us !

We are so glad to been in Mary and Adolph life for just little while. I wish we had meet them sooner they was such a blessing to us. I know that they are in heaven finishing the rest of there life together. Thanks for all your prayers for my family

she was always a dear sweet lady.my condolences to all of the family. our two familys grew up together in church. we loved bro and sis Phillips from the very first day we met in the very early 50s. the both of them will be missed
