James “Jim” Leo Greene, 72, passed away Sunday, May 13, 2012, at Mercy Medical Center.
Jim was born February 6, 1940, in Iowa Falls, Iowa, to Leo and Verdelle Greene. He served in the U.S. Navy from 1959 to 1963. Jim was an iron worker and a member of Ironworkers Local #67. He held various positions as an iron worker, from rod buster to pouring concrete and as a foreman. His last project was foreman of the Principal Building.
Jim is survived by his wife of 53 years, Anna; children, James David Greene and Natalie Greene (Dwayne) Short; grandchildren, Nicole Greene (John) Martin, Nathan James Greene, Justin Short and Jessica Short; four great-grandchildren; sisters, Peggy (Monty) Rodgers, Patricia Priske and Carla Hofer; and a host of other family and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, brother, Jerry Greene, and sister, Pam Greene Rodgers.
Funeral services will be held at 7 p.m., Thursday, May 17, 2012, at Hamilton’s Funeral Home, 605 Lyon Street. Visitation will be held from 6 to 7 p.m. Thursday, at the funeral home.
Memorial contributions may be directed to the Animal Rescue League or St. Jude’s Childrens Hospital, in loving memory of Jim.

Jim was such a fun person to visit with, always had kind words for other people. He will be miss by family and friends. R.I.P. Jim
