Mary "Loretta" Aldridge

Mary “Loretta” Aldridge, 76, died Wednesday, May 9, 2012, at Fleur Heights Care Center. A visitation will begin at 10 a.m., concluding with a memorial service at 11 a.m., Tuesday, May 15, 2012, at Lutheran Church of the Good Shepherd, 3820 SW 9th Street.

Loretta was born, March 16, 1936, in Des Moines, to Raymond and Lela Goodwin. She lived her entire life on Des Moines’ Southside. She worked at Bankers Life, Younkers, and was a talented cake decorator, but her most prized role was raising her children and grandchildren. Loretta loved shopping for clothes, jewelry,, and gifts for family and friends. She loved spending time with her many dear friends.

Loretta is survived by her daughter Denise Norman; sons, Douglas Aldridge, Derrick (Marsha) Aldridge; twelve grandchildren, and five great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Merrill, son, Dennis, and brothers, Leonard and LeRoy.
