Anthony, S. Bellizzi, 75, died Wednesday, May 9, 2012, in Hawaii, from pneumonia complications. Anthony was born August 5, 1936, in Des Moines, Iowa, as the first of three children. His parents were Angelo and Minnie Bellizzi, also of Des Moines. Anthony attended Lincoln High School where he was a six-letter winner in sports. He attended Iowa State University, and served in the United States Air Force. After initial employment in Des Moines, Anthony moved to Seattle, Washington, where he was employed in the steel fabrication industry. His career advanced to ownership of Construction Erectors, a steel fabrication and construction company. His construction achievements included bridges, buildings, and harbor-loading structures.

Anthony always had a deep interest in model scale racing that led him to form Model Racing Products. He traveled the United States and participated in racing competitions as far away as Monaco. Anthony loved to play golf, go hunting and fishing, and was an avid boater. He frequently operated his personal boat, fishing in the Puget Sound area. Anthony was always the life of the party and would lend a hand to help anyone in need.

Anthony was preceded in death by his parents, and is survived by his sons, Anthony Dean Bellizzi and Gino (Tricia) Bellizzi, his daughter, Nicole (Jeff) Smiley, and three grandchildren. He is also survived by two brothers, John (Diane) Bellizzi of Norwalk, Iowa, and Angelo (Irina) Bellizzi of Hawaii, as well as many nieces, nephews and cousins.

The family will greet friends at St. John the Apostle Catholic Church, Norwalk, Iowa, on Friday, May 25, 2012, from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m., followed by a funeral Mass at 11 a.m.
