Thelma Downard, 90, died May 10, 2012, at Taylor Hospice House.
She was born December 19, 1921, to Elizabeth and Ernest Wagner in Des Moines.
Thelma is survived by her daughter, Sharon Streeter; son, Bud Downard; brother, Ernie Wagner; sisters, Annabelle Nicolls and Josephine Page; five grandchildren; six great grandchildren; a host of other loving family and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Walter.
A funeral service will be held 2:00 p.m., Monday, May 14, 2012, at Hamilton’s Southtown Funeral Home, 5400 SW 9th Street in Des Moines. Burial to follow at Sunset Memorial Gardens. Visitation will occur from 12:30 – 2:00 p.m. prior to the service.
Memorial contributions may be directed toward Taylor Hospice House in loving memory of Thelma.

This is Ethel's granddaughter. My parents (Jean and Fred) and I, plus my sons (Mike and Matt) wish to let you all know our family prays for yours in this time. Thelma was such a good friend to my grandma for many, many years. They just don't make neighbors like that anymore.
