Amphanh Vongsaly

Amphanh Vongsaly, 53, passed away Wednesday, May 9, 2012, at Mercy Hospital in Des Moines. She was born February 1, 1959, in Laos, to Jaei and Khamphanh Champalath.

She enjoyed cooking, gardening, fishing and crocheting. Amphanh loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren.

Amphanh is survived by her husband, Lath Vongsaly; children, Chanphen (Phiane) Mekdara, Cindy (Erik) Collingwood, Brander Inthapanyavongsa; grandchildren, Alysia Vongsaly, Elias Vongsaly, Isaac Mekdara, Koston Collingwood, Mekhi Collingwood. She was preceded in death by her brothers, Samay Champalath, Somvang Champalath, Sanay Champalath, Tavin Champalath; and sister, Payom Champalath.

Funeral Mass will be 2 p.m., Monday, May 14, 2012, at St. Anthony Catholic Church, 15 Indianola Avenue, Des Moines. The family will greet friends from 5 to 8 p.m., Sunday, May 13, 2012, at Hamilton’s Funeral Home, 605 Lyon Street, Des Moines.

Memorial contributions may be given to the family in loving memory of Amphanh.
