Maxine Marie Goetsch, 77, was born May 18, 1934, in LuVerne, Iowa, the daughter of Herman and Mary (Gronbach) Warmbier. She passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family Tuesday, May 8, 2012, at Mercy Medical Center.

Maxine married Dale Goetsch on September 12, 1964, in Des Moines, and to this union three daughters were born. She enjoyed sewing, quilting, baking, bowling and traveling. Above all else, she treasured the time spent with her family, especially her grandchildren.

Maxine is survived by her daughters, Dawn Jones (Mark) of Altoona, Iowa, Debbie Fisk (Jed) of Waukee, Iowa, and Danette Botts (Mike) of Newton, Iowa; grandchildren, Nicholas Jones (Angela) of Altoona, Iowa, Carrie Fisk of Clive, Iowa, Christopher Jones of Altoona, Iowa, Jonathan Botts of Troy, New York, Kelli Fisk of Clive, Iowa, and Kristin Botts of New Hartford, Iowa; great-granddaughter, Lidia Jones of Altoona, Iowa; sisters, Arlene Warmbier of Altoona, Iowa, and JoAnn Schafer (Chuck) of Heber Springs, Arkansas; numerous nieces and nephews; and other relatives and many special friends. She was preceded in death by her husband, Dale Goetsch, and two brothers, Donald Warmbier and Wayne Warmbier.

The family will greet friends from 5 to 7 p.m., Friday, May 11, 2012, at Hamilton’s Altoona Funeral Home, 105 4th Street SW. Memorial services will be held 11 a.m., Saturday, May 12, 2012, at Hope Lutheran Church, 3857 E. 42nd Street, of which she was a member. Private burial will take place prior to the service.

Memorial contributions may be made to Hope Lutheran Church or the Jewish Life Center in memory of Maxine. Upon her passing, Maxine gave the gift of life to others as she was an organ and tissue donor.
