Maxine Ruth Oxley Koder, 83, passed away Thursday, May 3, 2012, at Rehabilitation Center of Des Moines. Maxine, the daughter of Clyde and Mary (Cooper) Oxley, was born on a farm in Maxwell, Iowa, on November 26, 1929, the sixth of seven children. She attended Maxwell High School, and was a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Maxwell. Maxine was employed by several businesses in Maxwell, and later at Iowa Lutheran Hospital in Des Moines for six years. She was united in marriage to Walter LeRoy Koder, Jr., on August 25, 1960. They lived in Phoenix for the first year of their marriage, and then returned to Iowa in 1961.

Maxine is survived by her sisters, Corinne Faelz of Ames and Alyce Jean Moore of Nevada; two nephews; two nieces; four great-nephews; one great-niece; one great-great-nephew; and one great-great-niece. She is preceded in death by her loving husband, LeRoy; her parents; three brothers; one sister; and her infant son.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m., Friday, May 11, 2012, at Hamilton’s Funeral Home, 605 Lyon Street, with visitation one hour prior to the service. Burial will follow at Peoria Union Cemetery in Maxwell, Iowa.
