Shirley Robinson, 85, was born March 19, 1927 in Brooklyn, New York, the daughter of Nathan and Anna (Kronenfeld) Cohen. She passed away peacefully Tuesday, May 1, 2012 at Mercy Medical Center.
Shirley is survived by her daughter, Sharon Benedict; grandchildren, Yamuna Benedict, David Benedict and Catherine Benedict; great-grandchildren, Niki Gaynor and Deva Gaynor; numerous nieces and nephews; other loving relatives and many special friends. She was preceded in death by her loving husband of 52 years, Richard Robinson.
The family will greet friends from 11:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. on Friday, May 4, 2012 at Hamilton’s on Westown Parkway, 3601 Westown Parkway. Celebration of Life services will be held at 12:00 p.m. Friday with inurnment to follow at Glendale Cemetery.

Shirley was one of a kind. I had the pleasure of working with Shirley for several years at the Department of Revenue. After her retirement, I use to meet Shiley in Las Vegas as she tried to conquer the slot machines. Shirley was very personable and she had a great sense of humor. I will miss our annual phone call. Shirley was one of the best of the best.
