Evelyn F. Petre, 79, passed away Monday, April 23, 2012, at Prime Nursing & Rehabilitation.
Evelyn was born May 11, 1932, in West Des Moines, Iowa, to Lawrence and Thelma (Cross) Stoddard. She was a cook at Mercy Medical Center for 30 years.
Evelyn is survived by her brothers, Gary and Larry Stoddard; daughter, Iona (Matt) Botkin; grandson, Kyle Botkin; and aunts, Phinas and Wilma. She was preceded in death by her husband, Glenn E. Petre.
Visitation will be held from 5 to 8 p.m., Thursday, April 26, 2012, at Hamilton’s Funeral Home, 605 Lyon Street. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday at the funeral home, followed by burial at 2 p.m. at Iowa Veterans Cemetery.
Memorial contributions may be directed to the family in loving memory of Evelyn.
