LuAnn P. McCuen

LuAnn P. McCuen, 52, went home to be with the Lord on Saturday, April 7, 2012. Funeral service will be 10:00 a.m., Thursday, April 12, 2012, at Lutheran Church of the Cross, 1701 8th Street SW in Altoona, with burial at 2:00 p.m. at North Lawn Cemetery in Ft. Dodge. Visitation will be 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. Wednesday, at Hamilton’s near Highland Memory Gardens, 121 NW 60th Avenue in Des Moines, with an Order of the Eastern Star service to be held at 7:30 p.m.

LuAnn was born March 2, 1960, to Betty and Donald Klingson in Ft. Dodge, Iowa. She graduated from Ft. Dodge Senior High School in 1978 and went on to attend the American Institute of Business in Des Moines. In January of 1980, she married Dwight Trampel, and to this union two children were born: Ryan in August of 1980, and Tricia in January of 1983. In September of 2004, LuAnn married Tom McCuen. She worked at various jobs in the Ft. Dodge and Webster City area throughout the years, most recently as the assistant manager at Dress Barn in West Des Moines.

LuAnn is survived by her husband, Tom McCuen of Altoona; her daughter Tricia (Nathan) Lewis; her son Ryan Trampel; her step-children: Travis (Stephanie) McCuen and Stephanie (Ryan) Gustafson; her father, Donald (Vivian) Klingson; her sisters: Sheri (Jerry) Harper and RoseMarie (Ron) Karstens; her sisters-in-law, Cheryl (Mike) Thompson and Norma McCuen; 19 nieces and nephews; and 20 great nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by: her mother, Betty; her grandparents, Louis and Thora Klingson, and Raymond and JennyMae Barnett; her great nephew Matthew Harper; brother-in-law Ernie McCuen; and mother and father-in-law, Lloyd and Geneva McCuen.
