Charles Lee Wilson

Charles Lee Wilson died Thursday, April 5, 2012, at Iowa Health Hospice Taylor House. He was born September 15, 1928, to James and Eva Wilson, in St. Joseph, Missouri.

Charles served in the US Army, and was a member of the Laborer’s Union Local #177. He worked for Breiholz Construction, Forrest & Associate, and Weitz Construction. For over thirty years, his great joy came from umpiring men and women’s softball games for the City of Des Moines. He also enjoyed playing cards with family and friends, and BBQing whenever it was nice outside.

Charles is survived by his wife of 41 years, Rose; children, Nimrod (Susan), Booker (Jolene), Sammy, Nancette, and Tracy; numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great grandchildren; and a host of other family and beloved friends.

He was preceded in death by parents; and daughter, Tina.

Per his request, his body has been cremated and private services will be held at a later date.
