Donald W. Richardson, Sr., passed away March 30, 2012. He was born March 10, 1931, to Asa and Edith Richardson, Sr., in Des Moines. Donald enjoyed hunting, fishing, woodworking and spending time with his grandchildren.
Donald is survived by his wife, Delilah Richardson; children Donna (Bill) Scenters; Jacqueline (Mike) Blaser and Donald (Judy) Richardson, Jr.; grandchildren, Brian Richardson, Reneé Richardson, Alice Richardson, Mickey Blaser, Codie Blaser, Josh Richardson, and Bradly Cahoon; great-grandchildren, Justin, Tori, Sara, Brian, Jr., Noah, Kara, Madison, Deseray, Kayla, Nathan, Andrew, Emily, and Elijah; great-great-grandson, Wyatt; brother, Asa (Vera) Richardson, Jr.; sister, Juanita Marksberry; and many nieces, nephews, in-laws and other extended relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, and sister, Alice Evans.
Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m., Saturday, April 7, 2012, at Hamilton’s Funeral Home, 605 Lyon Street, followed by burial at Avon Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday, at the funeral home.

I am so sorry I could not be there. He was a wonderful man and loved his family deeply and unconditionally.My thoughts will be with all you guys. I so wish I could be there for you. My heart felt love and thoughts to every one. Anything I can do please do not hesitate.

I was saddened to hear of Don's passing but grateful I had the opportunity to visit with him at the Family Reunions the past few years. My thoughts go out to you.
