Robert “Bobby” Penman, 54, passed from this life into the loving arms of Jesus on Tuesday, March 27, 2012. A celebration of his life will be held 2 p.m. Monday, April 2, 2012, at Hamilton’s Southtown Funeral Home, 5400 SW 9th Street. Bobby’s family will greet friends from 1 p.m. until service time on Monday. Inurnment will take place at Lowman Cemetery, rural Runnells.
Bobby was born June 23, 1957, in Des Moines, to Harry and Helen Penman. He worked as a fork lift driver for Firestone and was a member of the Steelworkers Local Union 310. Bow hunting and mushroom hunting were two of Bobby’s favorite outdoor activities. He was a proud member of AA.
Most important in Bobby’s life was love. He loved his wife, his family, his church, his work, and his Lord.
Bobby is survived by his wife, Cindy Penman; son, Anthony Robert (fiancé, Jennifer) Penman; step-children, Christopher Engelhart, Michelle Engelhart, Ashlyn Keltner, Alexandra Keltner; parents, Harry and Helen Penman; brothers, Steve (Cindy) Penman, John Penman, Kelly (Kathy) Penman and Kevin (Nancy) Penman.

Dear Bobby, I think about you a lot. I love you, and I miss you so much. Some days are harder than others. I will never forget you, you are always in my heart. I know that I mistreated you a lot, I never really understood I guess... I hope you know that I'm sorry. I regret everything bad I said to you. You were the best man that walked into my moms life, and I suppose I was just jealous. It was wrong of me to be that way. Our memories will always be with me. You were an amazing stepdad. The best one i've ever had. I just realized that today is March 27th. MARCH 27TH, you left on March 27th 2012. Its been like 5 years since you've left.... God sent me here. He sent me to your obituary.... Man, I can't even write this with clear eyes. Just know I love you Bobby, and you're ALWAYS in my heart and on my mind. See you sometime soon, love you.

I certainly will remember all the Monday night "Came To Believe" meetings I got to hear Bobby share in, he certainly "Came To Believe"

Cindy,
I would like to tell that my thoughts and prayers are with you, My aunt and Uncle. I sure know what you are all going though as I lost my grandson last Oct and it has been really had for me. Everyone says that it gets easier
I'm not sure when it does but if there is anything that I can do please let me know. If you just need to scream just do it as he will always be with you in spirit. There will be times that something will happen and you will know that he is with you always.

I went to school with Bobby and had reconnected with him on facebook. My thoughts and prayers are with you his family, I will truly miss his encouraging post of faith. He was truly a man saved by the grace of Jesus Christ and an inspiration to of those that had the pleasure of knowing just what the Lord had done for him in his life.
