Marie Ann Queensland

Marie Ann Queensland, 88, passed away on March 27, 2012. Services will be held on Friday, March 30, 2012, at 11:00 a.m., at Windsor Heights Lutheran Church, 1240 66th Street, Des Moines, IA. Family will greet friends one hour prior to the service. Burial will be at Evergreen Cemetery in Jewell, IA.

Marie Ann was born on August 7, 1923, in Jewell, IA, to Ella and Carl Queensland. She graduated from Jewell High School and then the University of Iowa, majoring in business. Marie Ann was a career woman her entire life. She worked for many years for Goodyear in Chicago and Des Moines; and then for the Austin Law Firm in Des Moines until her retirement. Marie Ann also cared for her aging parents by traveling to Jewell every weekend.

She was a faithful member of Windsor Heights Lutheran Church and enjoyed helping with the bulletins and newsletters. Marie Ann also enjoyed traveling and spending time with her family.

Marie Ann will be greatly missed by her brother, Ken (Elloyce) Queensland; nephew, Kent (Jane) Queensland and their children, Kelly and Katy; niece, Amy (John) Bobence and their daughter Kristen; cousin, Ada Marie Campbell and several other special cousins. She was preceded in death by her parents and a number of cousins.
