Gavin James Sly, 2, passed away Sunday, March 25, 2012.
Gavin was born November 9, 2009, in Des Moines. He was a happy and vibrant little boy. Gavin brought a smile to every face he met.
Gavin is survived by his dad, Tim Sly, Jr.; sister, Sydney Marie Braun; grandparents, Brenda Sly, Tim Sly, Sr., Sherri Sinclair and Bob Sinclair; and many other loving family members.
Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m., Thursday, March 29, 2012, at Hamilton’s Funeral Home, 605 Lyon Street, followed by burial at Glendale Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 6 to 8 p.m., Wednesday, at the funeral home.

"IN the arms of an Angel" is where little Gavin is now. I don't know the family, but I felt compelled to write something. The loss of a child is almost unbearable, but the memories he left you will pull you thru some of the toughest days you will face. Keep him in your heart and thoughts. May he rest in peace with all the other little children, until you all meet him again, God be with you!!!

Tim, I am so sorry to hear about Gavin. Children are god's angels and only he knows why he allowed this to happen. Please know he is with God and playing with the other children in God's playground. I am praying for you and your family.

I had the pleasure of spending Friday afternoon (March 23rd, 2012)with this lil guy. We had cookies and colored at Van Wall Motorsports in Perry. I am so thankful I was able to touch Gavin's life. What a wonderful child. I am sorry for your loss, may Gavin find comfort in the arms of an Angel & may God be with all of you during this difficult time.

Very sadden by your loss. Stay strong my friend, Sometimes its hard to understand the plan God has for us. I've been touched by very similar circumstances in my life, and drew strength believing there is a plan even though I may not be able to see it. Our thoughts and prayers are with you.
