Faye Bolinger

Faye M. Bolinger, 83, passed away Sunday March 25, 2012, at Iowa Methodist Medical Center.

Faye was born December 26, 1928, in Leon, IA, to Henrietta Mae (Greene) and Ansel McGauhey. She married Warren Shepherd, and gave birth to their three children. In 1964, she married Raymond Bolinger. Faye’s major job was taking care of her family. She also worked outside of the home. Faye loved gardening and flowers. She was an avid reader. She enjoyed her work with NAMI. Faye looked forward to spring and the return of the Jenny wrens and the first robin.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her infant brother, her sister, and her husband Raymond. She is survived by her daughter, Debra Shepherd; her sons, David Shepherd and Dennis Shepherd; her step-sons, Gerald Bolinger and Jeff Bolinger; nine grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren. She also was survived by Jasper, Spencer, Max, and Haley, her loving Shih Tzus.

Funeral services will be held at 11 am, Saturday, March 31, at Hamilton’s Funeral Home, 605 Lyon Street. Burial will take place at Laurel Hill Cemetery at a later date. Visitation will be held from 5 to 7 pm Friday, March 30, at the funeral home.

Memorials may be directed to the Wesley Acres Adult Day Care. With special thanks to Dr. Erin Herndon and all the Iowa Methodist staff who cared for our mother.
