Carol J. Whitten, 56, died Monday, March 19, 2012. No services are planned.
Carol is survived by her son, David Whitlatch of Bothell, WA; sisters, Linda Penman and Lucy Swenson, both of Des Moines, and Carla Frye of Norwalk; and brother, Roy Whitten, Jr., of Des Moines.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Roy and Phyllis Whitten.

TO CAROL'S FAMILY I JUST WANT YOU TO KNOW HOW SPECIAL CAROL HAS BEEN. MY HUSBAND IS A RESIDENT OF GENISIS & I HAD THE PLEASURE TO VISIT WITH HER. AT FIRST THOUGHT HER NAME WAS PAT, SO I WOULD SAY 'HI' PAT & SHE WOULD ALWAYS SAY HI DONNA. FINALLY ONE DAY SHE SAID HI DONNA & THEN SAID BY THE WAY MY NAME IS CAROL. I TOLD HER SHE SHOULD HAVE TOLD ME EARLIER, SHE SAID NO BIG DEAL, AT LEAST I WAS FRIENDLY. SHE WAS A SPECIAL LADY & WILL NOT BE FORGOTTEN. YOU ARE IN OUR PRAYERS. MAY GOD BLESS YOU. To Lucy, Karla, Linda, Shorty and especially David Lee:
I want you to know that I am thinking of each of you. Carol was a very special person in my life when I was a young girl. I wish things would have turned out differently, that the turns in life would have went a different way. We were all so young!!
Take care and know that I am thinking of each of you during this time of sadness.
