Service Details
William Bartram Gordon, 84, beloved husband and father, passed away peacefully on March 19, 2012. A lifelong citizen of Des Moines, he was born on January 4, 1928, to Harold and Lois Gordon. He was a member of Grandview Church of Christ, and a Mason who enjoyed sailing and military history.
He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Louise Gordon; five children, Mark (Connie) of Des Moines, Mary Doty (Tom) of Bowling Green, KY, Harold (Heidi) of Pine Bluff, AR, Linda Estes of Knoxville, TN, and Robert (Lyndsay) of Des Moines; sister Lois Brennan of Indianapolis; eleven grandchildren; one great-grandchild; and nephews and nieces.
A memorial service will be held at 3 p.m., Friday, March 23, 2012, at Grandview Church of Christ, 2763 Hubbell Avenue. Visitation will be held from 5 to 7 p.m. Thursday, at Hamilton’s Funeral Home, 605 Lyon Street.
The family asks that in lieu of flowers, any donations be made in Bill's honor to Valley View Village.

I am so sorry to hear about the loss of your Father. This is a most difficult time for you & your family. You all are in my thoughts & prayers. To the family of Bill Gordon. We are sorry for your loss. Bill's dad and my dad (Ben Kirkham) were cousins, we lived in rural Norwalk on the farm that Harold Gordon (we called him Uncle Ted) owned and he and his friends and family came out to target shoot with clay pigeons. A few years ago Bill and Louise came to our home in Norwalk to visit while my sister, Priscilla was here from California. At this time I am bringing up old memories of times past.
