Gloria Ervin

Gloria Mae Ervin, 84, passed away Sunday, March 18, 2012, at Regency Care Center in Norwalk.

Gloria was born June 4, 1927, in Des Moines, to Glesner and Phyllis (Malone) Jackson. She married Donald Ferrell, and from that union Donna Jean Ferrell was born. Gloria later married Sylvester Ervin. She retired from Iowa Methodist Medical Center after over 30 years of service as a nurse’s aide.

Gloria is survived by her brother, Lawrence (Lillie) Jackson; granddaughter, Yolanda (James) Singleton; great-grandchildren, TaMarah Massey, Brittany Black and Cornelius Black; great-great-grandchildren, Asante, Rozaria, Alejandro, SaMarah, Zazetta, Olivia and Faith; step-grandchildren, Johnny, Heather and Margaret; and a host of nieces, nephews, other extended relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her brother, Glesner David Jackson, Jr.; daughter, Donna Jean Ferrell; and her husband, Sylvester Ervin.

Per her wishes, her body has been cremated and private family services were held.
