John T. Robbins

John T. Robbins passed away on Wednesday, March 14, 2012, at Methodist Hospital in Des Moines. John was born on February 10, 1937, to Mary Robbins in Des Moines.

John enjoyed spending time with his family and friends. He retired from Leachman Lumber and for many years before that drove a beer truck.

John is survived by his daughter, Deanna (Vic) Robinson; grandchildren, Amanda (Chris) Belcher, Sarah (Jeff) Streeter and Jeffrey (Katie) Robinson; four great-grandchildren, Christopher, Zachary, Lucas and Kael; son in-law, Edward Curry; sisters, Diane (Carl) Ohnemus and Mary Jo (Jerry) Graves; brother, David Robbins; and numerous nieces, nephews and friends.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Barbara; two daughters, Denise Robbins and Darla Curry; his mother and his sister, Carolyn.

Funeral Mass will be at 10:30 a.m., Saturday, March 17, 2012, at St. Anthony Catholic Church. Burial will follow the mass at Glendale Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m., Friday, March 16, at Hamilton’s Southtown Funeral Home, 5400 SW 9th Street, with a rosary starting at 6:30 p.m.
